Josie's 7

On Sunday my little girl turned 7 years old. It amazes me to think back seven years ago on the day she was born and through the years and how much she has changed and grown. From day one she has brought so much love, passion, humor and happiness into our lives. Matt and I can't imagine what life would be like without her. We love her so much and are so grateful for our little Josie. Thank you for being my daughter, my friend, my helper and for being such a helpful and loving little girl. I love you so much Josie!!

For Josie's birthday we wanted to do something special for her this year, we had decided not to do a birthday party this year but something just for her. This took some brain storming but soon we thought of the perfect thing for her. Those who know Josie knows how much she loves horses so we decided to take her on a horseback trail ride and boy was she excited. Since the other kids weren't old enough it was just me and her which made it even a little bit more special. Thanks Matt for letting me be the one to go with her. Needless to say she had so much fun and asked if she could do it again.

Before the trail ride we had some time to kill before the trail ride so we went over to the park to play. While there this lady was holding this sweet kitty, Josie asked her if it was hers and she said no that it just showed up so Josie asked her if she could hold it. This sweet little kitty let Josie take it down slides with her, she carried this cat around like it was a doll and it let her. Boy did she want to bring it home with her but Dad said no. Lucky for us another little girl showed up at the park and we were able to pawn off this sweet little kitty to her (we don't know if she took it home but we like to think that she did so it went to a good home).

Awaiting the start of the trail ride. Josie, Anthony and Makayla enjoyed petting the horses that were nearby. Josie and me before getting our horses.I was on a horse named Toby and Josie's horses name was Trooper. Trooper turned out to be a great horse for Josie to ride. He was very calm and cooperative whereas mine was a bit cranky at times. He liked to try to bit the horse in front of him. After the trail ride was over Josie and me on our horses. For Josie's birthday she got lots of fun new things : her first present was from Anthony...

from Makayla and Zachary she got her very own baseball glove with ball. Josie is really into learning the game of baseball so we got her a glove. Josie's helmet was starting to crack so a few weeks ago she saw this one in the store and commented on it so we decided to get her a new one for her birthday. Yup, it is a unicorn one.
For Josie's birthday she had a few requests that she really wanted which were the barbie fridge with lots of food and a barbie bunk bed for her barbie house. Lucky for her she got both!!
So this year since Josie has been really big into butterflies I found a butterfly cake idea online and decided to make it for her with our own twist of course. Between Matt, myself and Josie here is how it turned out.
I think it turned out pretty darn cute, don't you?

Happy 7Th birthday Josie!!! We hope that you had a birthday to remember and that you know how much we love you!!!!
